Hi,

I'm looking to buy the PWR radiator for my mr2 since the one I have is leaking ...

I was wondering if I need to buy something else with it or I can just replace the old one by the PWR without any othe piece of modification !

Thanks :)

Hey,

I bought one from horsepowerfreaks.com. This is on my 91 Turbo, and to my surprise it was 10 pounds. The stocker weighed in at 12 pounds.

The only thing I did notice is that the radiator didn't come with a cap for the radiator air bleed nipple. I used a brass cap, and it worked great.

Below is a shot of mine. I got some more images on my website too on the install process. I also updated the A/C components, so its a mixture of both. http://5sfeturbo.com

sure, no problem dude. I was going to go original, but you save a little weight, and the difference to a genuine Toyota Radiator is about the same price.

Stock Toyota Radiator: 448.27 -- When on sale: 331.72
PWR Radiator Horsepowerfreaks.com: 462.44

Just found this one at full-race.com: 404.00

Does the PWR have more capacity? If so the weight loss could be a wash. I've always wondered if a smaller radiator would work, about the size as the civic guys run.
Larger capacity would mean more coolant in the radiator which means more weight up front. So while the radiator itself is lighter you'd wind up with more weight when you combine the coolant and radiator.
