Okay, so I get my new MkII and buy some cheap head unit from Best Buy as well as the harness that should go along with it. I get to my buddies house and we begin to disassemble the interior and take out the stock head unit.
First off I do not have premium sound, the stock unit was only a casette and radio. I don't have a picture of what I found yet, but I will by the end of the day. It was 8 pins on top, and 6 on the bottom, seperated by a 2 pin wide spacer:
|oooooooo|
|ooo--ooo|
There's some electrical tape on the wires behind the connector so I am thinking maybe this guy butchered the wiring himself maybe, so if any of you know anything about this connector let me know- Hell I may even be so inclined as to buy the head unit this connector is for just to avoid any BS with installing it.
The guy as Best Buy said I would have to rewire the entire car, speaker-to-speaker. That is NOT something I know how to do, or want to pay for just to listen to a damn CD. Anyways, any input would be muuuuch appreciated so thanks in advance.
