anything is possible. its interesting because it would bring the weight balance back closer towards 50/50. but a horribly sacrilegious thing to do
What's so great about 50/50? That's just the closest to ideal that front engined cars can get.

To my knowledge, no rotary has ever been in a FFWD or mrwd configuration. This makes such a swap so difficult/expensive that it might as well be considered impossible.
it has been done in the mazda le mans car hasent it? the 26B

one good thing about having a rotary engine is that it brings down the centre of gravity on the car.. just like a boxer engine

Well Considering that an RX7 engine is a 1.3 Liter, with no pistons. This should definitly not be in the V6 Forum. Second, rule of thumb, if you have deep pockets, anything is possible. Shyt ill even sell you my girlfriend if the price is right. In short, anything is possible, but sometimes doing it makes you a god dam moron. This would be one of those such situations.

does she put out on a first date?

You could probibly do it given the resources but I'd get a mr2 thats been hit in the back so you could tube frame it up....chances are you'd have to hack it up preaty good anyways to make it fit because you'd probibly do it inline vs longetudnal.

Hmmm.... You dumb ass there are so many advantages to having a rotary engine! You get higher Rpm's, they weight less, and there are less vibrations(better stearing). I am making a track car not some piece of sh* t street racer. So I really dont car if i can "smoke my tires" like you. You can go kill your tires smoking em but i will be at a track killing them...

I have a Retro Car magazine where some guy put a 13B in the back of a Skoda Estelle using a vw bug tranny. so it was a rear engined rotary. pretty cool article if you read it.

If you just have to have a mid engined rotary then just start with a Porsche 914. Its been done before, and there already exists the adapter plates to mount a 13b to the 914 or later posche tranny. A 93 MKII, no offense, is just a fat piggy and due to firewall spacing and axle positioning (remember both exhaust and intake are on the same side) it would just be too much of a nightmare. In the end you will have a car that took 10k to build and probably be just as heavy if not heavier than had you just started out with FC/FD.

Besides the FD chassis and suspension was personally handcrafted by God so why not just sell the 2 and start off with an FD? FD > MKII in every way but reliability, cooling issues, cost to maintain, fuel economy, electrical issues (mostly 93's), and maybe some of the interior build quality as well. I'm sure theres more that could be added. I guess it's love it or hate it haha.

Or just go for a Miata with a 13b swapped. It will weigh a lot less than a MKII fully stripped and has been done.

And for the record Mazda has made a FWD rotary. The 1969-72 R130 Luce Rotary with the 13A.

I'm personally thinking of going for an SA/FB once I get the MR2 done. I can't beat my Mazda parts discount. :D
