Remember the "Big June" meets KC used to have back in the day? Could someone possibly google map the path we used to take when doing the HI 5 cruise/run and the park we would always drive through and take the many photo ops?

I just tried looking all over google maps around HI 5 and for the life of me can't figure out what path was taken?

Thanks,
-Bill

I'd love for there to be a Big June meet this year. With my travel schedule though, I don't know what weekends I'll be home yet in the month of June.

I'd just like to know what the path was so I could go drive it:). I live just north of the airport so I know I'm close to it.

Man the memories! I just went once in '04 with the red All-Trac, and it was a blast!

You're up in my neck of the woods Bill! I'm at I-29 & Barry Rd.

I'll bet Randy could remember the route. I may take a trip out there and see if I can remember.

Those big June meets were a blast! ah the memories!

Can we make it late June early July? I'll be just finishing up my car late may early June. Went a little extensive....again. hah

Anyway this is the route I believe. Between the red pin and purple pin and it's the road that runs closest to the river. Doesnt look that twistie but it is and last time I was on it it was 50 or 55. Been a cpl years though.

Originally I started around my house near I-29 & 64th Street. South on I-29 to I-635 then West on 9 Hwy through Parkville along the river to 45 hwy. West on 45 hwy to I-435. Then South to Wolcott Drive exit where we followed Hwy 5 to Leavenworth. Hwy 5 looks fairly tame on the map but there are several twisty bits before you go by the prison on the way to Leavenworth. (Originally I had planned to eat lunch at a restaurant in Leavenworth but I think it looked like rain that day so we kept going.) Then we took 4th Street North through Leavenworth to 92 Hwy. East on 92 Hwy to Platte City.

At the first meet after we ran the route we just went back down I-29 because it started to rain. My original route continued on 92 Hwy East of Platte City to Hwy C then wound around the back roads down to Farrelview and crossed under/over I-435 winding around more back roads down passed 152 Hwy to Barry Road then back home.

In later years it was went around Wyandote County Lake and then on to the Hwy 5 part of the route.

I found a quote about Hwy 5 on Sportbikeroads.com website. "The ride has some nice easy curves in it and goes through some nice wooded areas. It's not exactly "Deals Gap", but then, this is Kansas. . . :) "

Awesome! Thanks Josh/Randy for posting that. Wyandote County Lake was the part I couldn't figure out as I thought we were hitting up that lake later in the cruise somewhere further along HWY 5 and not the beginning of the cruise. If there is no rain this Saturday, I'm gonna go drive it and see how much of this I can remember from back in the day. :)

Hey Brian! Missed yah at last years fall meet that Josh put together. I'm up in Platte City these days...so about 12 miles from Zona Rosa.

I say we get everyone together this June and make an event of it!

I'm down as always! I'm going to push it on having my car done. Have a motor to be machined and assembled and finishing fabricstin my intake manifold and full exhaust and a ton of wiring to do for my ems, dash display and then tune the thing. And my pistons and turbo are still 2-3weeks out. Hah oh and I'm putting a/c back in my car, have everything now to do it. :)

So if this is a huge meet Let's shoot for the end of June if that's okay with everyone?

Man today's weather was awesome. After spending all morning taking care of the honey do's list....got to take the 2 out on this route. It was just as I remembered it. Crazy how much of it comes back once your out there. There were a lot of motorcycles and corvettes that were out there cruising today as well. It was fun. So glad I live right next to this route:)

This cruise took me about 1hr 15min from my house and doing the speed limits and no stopping. So I figure with our June cruise/meet....we could add in another 1.5 - 2 hrs with stops along the way to take photo's, BS, and kick some rocks around....

Nope that wasn't this Justin, that was Justin Smallen's car the year before I went. I was supposed to go that year but I broke my femur instead.

This is what my All-Trac looked like when I brought it with the 18" Volks
