Loctite 641 Retaining Compound for SC Pulley

We have a 89 SC that my son uses for autocross. We recently purchased an NST oversized pulley set from twosrus and I have a grunt box on order. Also purchased from kbox a new woodruff key and crank bolt (and will locktite it in)! Reading some of the posting on the SC pulley there were concerns on overstressing the key. Now that I have the key in hand - I agree it is a small key (much smaller than the pulley keyway length). I did some research and am considering installing the pulley with Loctite 641 retaining compound. It will add some strength to the joint and is intended for parts that require disassembly. It seems like a good idea-the down side is it will make future removal if the pulley harder - may have to use heat to loosen the compound. Has anyone tried retaining compound on pulleys? Any positive or negative results?
Thanks for any feedback
