I have spent the past few hours pouring over websites and my car trying to find something that identifies the year it was produced. I have so far failed, does anyone know where I should be looking? Its a 93 or 94 im sure, the rego says its a 94 model but the service manual is a 93 manual and I havent been able to find anything to verify it. The most useful information I have been able to find on the plate is:

SW20-ACMZZ(S)
N11

Rest is just colour etc. I would really appreciate it if someone could help, I am browsing through new parts and some of the TRD parts are listed as before 93.11 and some after 93.11 and im not certain what it really is.

if you can find the turbo i believe the 90-93 should be a CT27 and the 93+ should be a CT20. correct me if im wrong. hopefully that was of some help to you.

Basically Japan doesn't really consider vehicle year. Everything goes by first registration date, there superceeded by Minor change. So you could have a 1993 of before change and after change. That's all anyone in Japan really cares about.
It is also possible to have a early model (Before Change) registered after the Minor change.

Legally everything will be based on the first registration date. That is as far back as any record from Japan will go. So your car is a 1994 (legally)

So, You already know your car was registered in 1994. But is it a GenII or a GenIII should be your main concern. So look at the Chasis # range in my first post to figure out what generation your car is.

After you figure out what generation your car is. Here is how you would order parts:
GenII = before 1993.11
GenIII = After 1993.11

and i just realized i don't even know if your talking about an na or turbo lol OOPS. i'm new! well ^^^^ that applies if its turbo'd but i shall stop being annoying!
He said it was a SW20-ACMZZ(S) so looking up at the guide you would realize a ACMZZ(S) is a GT-S model = Turbo.

Whats the difference between the Gen2 GT and GT-S Model?? I have a GT-S, Just wondering which is better?
From what I know the GTS is a more stripped down "sport" version, I know it has cloth seats as opposed to leather but I can't remember what else, I'm sure it has something to do with options like power steering, abs, tcs. I know the JDM GTS I've gotten parts from has power windows/locks and even folding mirrors so it's not totally stripped down as some would hope for :p

all cars state year of built at that little piece of cloth located at the base of seatbelts
hope this helps too

That only proves the date of build for the seat belt. That little cloth label has no legality over the vehicles build date as it can be changed with newer or older used parts. The only thing that is for certain for any JDM vehicle is the Chasis number and the date of first registration. JDM cars do not have a label in the door stating manufacture date.

I know I am replying to a question that has already been answered, but I have to point out the differences in tail lights. The Rev. 2 MR2's reverse lights look like this:

Rev. 3's look like this, with a different wing.:

It's pretty simple to tell the generation for me here in Japan, just by these tail lights, cause most gaijin are too lazy to change them. Mine's a JDM '93 N/A, and it's got them. Just my .02?.
