Help needed, cranking in "ON" position

Need help with the wiring on my rev 2.

I've made a post about this before but still can't fix this issue.

My 1993 Rev 2 Turbo is experiencing an issue that I cannot seem to find anyone else experiencing. There seems to be an issue where the fuel circuit and the crank circuit are either touching somewhere or something has shorted out and is giving power to the crank circuit when in the "ON" position.

It all started after I had put the engine back into the car after replacing all the gaskets. I then went to crank the engine over to make sure that all systems were working fine with the EFI relay unplugged to stop it from starting up. The engine cranked over completely fine in the start position.

After cranking the engine over a few times and making sure that nothing was leaking out I plugged the EFI relay back in an attempt to try to start it up. But to my surprise, after turning it over to the "ON" position, the engine started cranking over (only should be cranking over in the START position).

I then removed the EFI relay again and tried to crank it over which then went back to only trying to crank over when in the START position. To me, this seems like the fuel circuit is somehow powering the crank circuit which obviously is not meant to happen.

After checking any obvious wiring fault I then consulted the wiring diagram and pictures that I took before the engine was removed (the engine started fine before it was removed). I've spent around 50 hours now just trying to find any issue with a ground in the wrong place or connector that wasn't plugged in and cannot find anything that would cause an issue like this.

I've tested the relays to make sure that they work properly and haven't been able to find any issues with those so far. However, when the EFI relay is disconnected I found that the starter relay is receiving 3.5v in the ON position. When I plug the EFI relay back in, the power send to the starter relay is now 7v in the ON position which seems to be enough to start cranking it over (bare in mind that it should NOT be cranking over in the ON position at all).

I'm searching for any advice on what to test next or even a fix, as with my limited knowledge, I'm now at a bit of a dead end. I unfortunately don't live anywhere near an MR2 specialist but am sure that someone with more knowledge would probably be able to sort this issue out easily.

ANY HELP IS SERIOUSLY APPRECIATED.

This is definitely one of the causes of this issue. Or even the ground point with the bolt between the rear lights in the boot/trunk area. Depends on the car as some ground the starter relay on the intake manifold and some on the chassis.
I too have had this issue when I forgot to bolt it down.
