definetly not 15mm long, i think they are 10mm. the ones i bought at lowes tonight were 12mm long and they were longer than stock ones.

Ya, you are correct. 10mm might be more like it. And maybe even more like 8mm of actual thread.

Good stuff! I didn't realize anyone else actually knew that. I figured someone would argue that the bolts were actually 12mm bolts and not 8mm.

When you replace most of your visible hardware with Stainless Allen head bolts you learn alot about how to measure hardware.
