EFI fuse

Hi guys im having a small problem and just need some help to start me off.
What does the EFI fuse in the engine bay feed? as it keeps popping every time i start the car. Its a factory Gen3 turbo.

Ok so lets see if it is the fuel pump.

Take the bezel around the gear shifter off .

To the side under it there will be the fuel pump plug.

It looks like this



Unplug it.

Now put another 15 amp fuse in. Turn to ignition BUT AGAIN DO NOT CRANK.

Does the fuse blow ? If it does its most likely not the pump.

If it doesnt blow well there is a very good chance its the pump or the pump is nudging the current draw over :( New pump required

ok so i disconnected the fuel pump and fuel level sensor plug i think? two plugs under the ash tray. turned car to on and it still blew the fuse.

guess that means my pump is ok.

time to start checking relays and fuel pump resistor i guess

nothing that should interfere with the fuel pump or EFI fuse.
ive got st205 w2a and running 16 psi mbc and every thing else is suspension related,the ic water pump is fed through a relay from a different fuse, so its not that.

So you just ruled out the fuel pump and wiring up to that connector. There could be a short in one of the harnesses that runs between the connector and the fuse. Probably not, unless you have been doing work around that area of the car.

Next, you should unplug the O2 sensor and try the experiment again. The EFI fuse runs the O2 heater element and if the sensor or the O2 sensor wiring is bad, you will blow the fuse.

thanks for all the help i unplugged the fuel pump resistor and the o2 sensor. replace the fuse with a 10amp as i ran out of 15's and it hasnt blown yet ill work backwards and see if i can find the problem

ok got the car started with everything except the o2 sensor plugged in.
the connect for the sensor is damaged so ill check to see if theres a short on the plug or if its the sensor itself.
its looking like a good excuse to get a wide band o2 sensor i think.
