GT models came with most things as standard where as GTS models had to be spec'd up with options that where standard on the GT model, so you could have a GTS with exactly the same level of options as a GT. There were also options that were not not standard on either model (Traction control/ cruise control/sat Nav + many more) but could be added to the car when it was ordered.

on a side note i might add the gts was more perfomance oriented cause it was slightly lighter than the gt model and had more rigidity due to it being a hard top
but then again the weight difference could be due to it having less interior goodies

You are correct.

ABS was standard on a GT and a option on a GT-S

Traction control was optional on a GT but only available as a set with ABS on a GT-S

before 93 had no lsd

the reason is when i did a burnout on my driveway guess wat ....
there were 2 tread marks on the pavement much which was not at all liked
by the other family members lol.

and its a 92 gts turbo so it has to have the e153 transmission

heres the catch i did a good solid take off in first at around 5000rms (which is when i dumped the clutch) came back the next day to see since it was night then hehe

guess wat only one tread mark ...
so im stumped is that how lsd's work

i read somewhere here on the posts that if it makes 2 tread marks = lsd

any more help would be great . i dont have the car with me right now so i cant check the tramission on the production vin thingie
but the chasis no is sw20 00067500 doubt if this will help at all

You are correct.

But there were two types of ABS available, right? 4 channel and 3 channel. Was the TRC only available with the 4-channel?

TRC was only available on Generations II-IV
GenI was 4 channel
GenV was 3 channel
So basically one can say TRC was only available with 4channel.
But Technically TRC was not available on all 4channel ABS systems.

That is exactly the info needed to check your car on the list I provided in the thread I linked to. If you have provided a JDM vehicle Chasis no. then your vehicle is a GenII with a viscous coupling LSD E153 Transaxle.

the weight distribution in our cars can do that with or without lsd but ishii says u have lsd :thumbup

I have a 90 GT and a 92 GTS

Both have auto climate control and steering fogs.
GT is a hardtop the GTS a t-top.
GT has ABS, GTS doesn't.
GTS has LSD, GT doesn't.
GT has elec folding mirrors, GTS doesn't.

Loads of GT and GTs cars here in the UK. really cheap right now too.

You can't go wrong GT or GTS both are great cars. I like the GT a bit more as it's got some interesting options like the upgraded AC, sound system, seats, moving fog lights etc, but Id be just as happy if I bought a GTS I'm sure.

GTS is lighter only becuase you could get it with less features than a GT; namely ABS.

If you do get a GTS with full options it would only be less than 10 pounds lighter because you cannot get power folding mirrors on the GTS.

There are more GT with T-Tops because people who bought The GT model wanted a full spec car with zero intentions to use the car for performance. If automatic was available I'm sure you would`ve found most GT buyers would've bought Automatic aswell.

and gt models always come with t-tops from the factory( not on buyer's request)

i always thought that unless im wrong lol come to think of it i personally have never seen any sw20 with a gts bagde with targa top.

that would i think explain the gts or so i have heard from a guy who deals in jap imports locally in fiji i might add lol

i guess cars intended for the us market could have a gts badge and have a t- top

only thing ANY of my 3 gt's had that my gts did not was leather suede seats and abs, also power fold in mirrors.

A abs fuking sucks in these cars lol -that is if u actually drive it like a sports car .
the fold in mirrors are stupid here where we have plenty of room to park and what not. and i swapped in the extra seats i had from my previous model .

A little defensive buddy, I really could care less about most of the options on GT or GT-S. As long as it's Turbo, 5 speed, T-tops, A/C I'm set. However unless I was turning my car into a race car, extra options that are quirky are kinda of cool, they add character to the car, especially when compared to USDM Models.

I've seen a few GT-S models loaded, and GT models not so loaded, I guess the GT came with more standard features, and the GT-S more options to add on.

I like the sound of GT-S more actually, in the end we all share the same love for the car and that's all the matters. But the folding mirrors, I disagree I think it's one more thing that isn't on lots of cars and that is neat, albeit useless here to some degree but still distinctive.
