right when u start the car, if u dont let it warm up and try driving off, it'll die.
once its warmed up, it drives fine. what's the mystery here?
any idea? its getting a code #46 (no idea).
btw- its an 86 corolla gt-s.

I'm pretty sure the cold start valve is only to help the car start when its cold. Its not for warm-up enrichment. The car will actually start with out the cold start valve, you'll just have to crank it for a while. Might want to find out what code 46 is (I have trouble believing the computer would know if the cold start valve was working or not)

Well, code 4 is coolant temp sensor, and code 6 is RPM signal... Code 6 seems like it would be disasterous to running the car, but code 4 may cause the car to run poorly for the first minute or two of operation. I'd check your coolant temp sensor.

Cause he's an idiot?

FI-20 through FI-23 in the 85 BGB explains the diagnosis codes. Some are two digits, but its read off as a single code, you just count the blinks 1 through 11 (not counting 9). Of course, I'm basing this off an AW11 not an AE86.
