Burning coolant issue

Hey all
So my NA 86 AW11 has been burning coolant recently and it’s been going through a good amount at a concerning rate.

I daily drive this car, only has 174k on the odo

whenever I get done driving the car and come home, I always smell coolant. I’ve made sure that I have a good seal on my rad and res cap. I had to purchase a different res because the one I had was cracked on the top half. checked my oil and oil cap and there’s no residue so I don’t believe it’s a head gasket, there’s no white smoke on idle. My only real reason would be is that I drive too harsh (not really but I get up in rpm’s sometimes)
I do know that I might potentially have a weak water pump (separate issue) but there’s no puddles or anything under my car so it’s not leaking anywhere.

Any suggestions to look out for or help in any way would be GREATLY appreciated.

Well, how much in how long? Don't be shy.

Where do you smell it? In the exhaust? From the engine compartment?

That would be because you don't have a breach between coolant and oil. You could have a breach from coolant to a cylinder, and then you would burn coolant. I think that it is likely a ruptured head gasket. Has your engine ever overheated?

Unwarranted conclusion. Maybe it only leaks when the engine is running. Look to see if your coolant pump shaft seal is spitting. If the leak is small, it may only leak a plume of steam while the engine is hot, and not at all when cold.
