Im a little new to this whole tuning thing, what is mbt and mtbt?
MBT - Max Brake Torque (which I don't like because it sounds like a metric for the things that stop the car instead of the thing that makes the car go)

MTBT - Minimum Timing for Best Torque (which you can adjust on a brake dyno by increasing timing at a given engine speed/load point until no more significant torque is produced at that point)

Well it's me again. This time I'm maxing out the GTX2863r to see how much I can squeeze out. What's interesting is that this setup ppears to spool faster, and the entire powerband seems to shift to the left. Same turbo, manifold, exhaust diameter, cams. The head is port matched on exhaust side only.

20 psi and it falls down to 18.5 near redline. Any boost increase after 15 psi, peak power was slowly increasing and only mid range torque was notably gaining. Looking at the compressor map, 19-20 psi would be the pressure the turbo can effectively push the last bit of CFM in the 60% efficency island. Near redline this turbo was going way out of efficiency. I didn't finish tuning ignition timing in the higher rpms before the dyno ran into some computer issues and had to stop the session.

The car is significantly faster with a fat powerband. The turbo is ridiculously responsive for 20 psi and there is no lag when throttle is stomp after 5k rpm.

This is very impressive man!

There is a gt28 MR-S here in Vegas and I have to admit at about 330ish whp in its low boost setting, the car was awesome. Felt faster than a buddy of mines 60-1 mr2. Props on the setup. I had no clue the 2ZZ could achieve these numbers so easy unopened

What were the differences in boost? Impressive how fast it responded. Almost 100hp in under 200 rpms.

Nice, goes to show that it is not boost limited yet if it is still picking up that kind of power per psi and the tune is safe.
