Hey guys got a pipe made to remove my BOV and I gotta say its the best mod I've done yet. The turbo responds so much better between shifts and improved the drivability like night and day. If anyone is interested in one let me know.

I have to say I was initially skeptical of this idea, but after much research I came around to it and built myself some new intercooler pipes without the BOV flange. I haven't driven the car all that hard yet as I am breaking in a new clutch, but so far I really like it too.

Im going to see about having one of the one piece hotpipes made by RacerX done, maybe with a billet piece that will bolt into place where the BOV goes, OR, I was thinking of controlling the valve with a valve that will allow/block vacuum flow to the valve, so it just never opens unless I want it to.

That valve would be a great idea I just liked the look of no BOV it cleans up the engine bay a bit.

It is not!

Running no BOV does not damage the turbo, or effect its lifespan.
BOV's were introduced as a NHV prevention measure, that is all.
Running without a BOV does decrease lag on gear changes.

When will people learn...

This is never going to be proven.

I think its fine to not run a valve. The logic makes sense to me.

However, you have the guys who run valves who are fine. You have the guys who dont run valves who are fine. And you have the guys who do both and lose turbos both ways.

My only response to the bov is needed crew is this: Toyota ST185 AllTracs/GT4s didnt come stock with one, and their turbos get about the same life out of them as ours do.

The way I see it is; If it came with one from the factory, just freakin' keep using one.

Alot of cars have been produced without one, that's fine and dandy; but if my MR2 came designed with one from Toyota factory, then I will keep using one for it.

My MR2 also came designed with ~170rwhp. Doesn't mean I kept it like that.

I looked into this, and my friend said "hey your hks bov may be adjustable!" so I said "Sweet! let's do it!" and we did it and broke the screw :(
So now I'm gonna get another hot pipe and make one :thumbup
