I was out on the side of my work building on the corner of Andersen and Bellam Blvd in San Rafael, when I saw a shiny red MKI out of the corner of my eye. I turn and the first thing I see was the wheels, and I knew it was you. I didn't have my camera on me at the time, but instead was able to snap a pic with my camera phone just before you pulled away from the stop light. Car's lookin good. What were you doin passing by my work?

Yeah, I was seriously hungry and was going to Wendy's for a double burger and baked potato. Couldn't believe all the illegal Mexicans hanging out waiting to be picked up for day labor...........

The car is actually dirty and needs a good waxing, but I'm glad it looked good from a distance and on the move at least.

Tell me about it. There's like 100+ of 'em just near the intersection there. Every friggin day.... and I barely see any of them go anywhere. They pretty much all just stand around all day and try to wave down cars. I get waved at all the time in the shop truck lol.

We've hired a few of them to do sanding and stuff at the shop but they all quit after 1 day and say it's too hard. Fine, go stand on the ____ing street with everyone else then, don't learn a trade and have steady work.

Your car did look really good though. Especially compared to the surrounding cars.

Yeah, I never did get that. The more immigration stuff I go through getting my wife here, the more pissed off I get at all the illegals. Wish I could qualify for ICE duty.

Thanks for the compliment, always nice to hear!

Which shop do you work at? Maybe next time I come in to work late I can swing by and we can go grab lunch.

Fo sho. I get an hour for lunch but usually take it in the afternoon... like right now lol. What time would it be?

I'm at G&C Autobody on the corner of Andersen and Bellam. We're literally right under 101.

Probably not any later than the day you saw me - definitely before noon. It would have to be on a day that I drive in and go in late. I'll keep it in mind though.

Have you seen all the people who sit around on the corner of Fulton rd and River rd waiting to be picked up? We hire a bunch of them but they usually quit after about a week saying it's too much work and I'm in the vineyards.

If you wanna hear about being lazy, then you should hear my story.
I just walked out the door from a city job that pays 80k/yr because I hated doin the work.

I don't blame anybody who doesn't want to work a certain job, but I do blame the folks holding up signs asking for handouts for being lazy while all the folks you see trying to hustle for work wake up early every morning and stand in droves on those streets.

ever hired illegal workers? they bust their asses..
Werd, as the kids say (immigration debate notwithstanding.) I've hired day laborers before and worked beside them. On the whole, they work harder and complain less. And they're versatile... I can go to the K-Mart in Capitola (our local pickup spot) and get a qualified tile guy or bricklayer for $10/hour.

Only bad day laborer I've gotten was a native born crackhead.

EDIT: Somewhat on topic, I'm looking forward to going to Thailand for New Years this year. Woo-hoo!
