Yup, I dont know why anybody would be silly enough to argue otherwise, unless they'd never used one.

Sorry, I refuse to accept that without some proof. I have tuned and logged enough cars to know that the ECU is going to respond negatively if you give it an oscillating value of 4.7 to 4.9V at any frequency you wish to. I agree that there is a frequency that the ECU looks for, however I bet its not as smart as you guys are giving it credit for.

Be happy for somebody to prove me wrong...your time you're wasting not mine lol.

No, actually he's asking how to trick the ECU into thinking theres a knock sensor. The only people who brought up faking the knock value are others in this thread. I'm assuming MikeV wants to pass emissions, and you guys are going wayyy overboard. Internet gurus I guess ;)

....except for that part where scarecrow says its not even a 5V sensor? :bsflag:
You do realize that JMR_Aw11 has actually reverse engineered the code for the ECU and looked at it in great detail?

He has stated clearly what he did to make the ECU think that there IS a fully functional knock sensor. He has gone so far to actually create full inputs for all aspects that the ECU needs to think there is an engine running, when in reality there is NOT any engine present, just his false inputs. He has posted detailed graphs/logs of how the ECU reacts to different situations, even knock events and the decay curve of the ignition retard that goes with it.

He is not an internet guru, he is an MR2 ECU guru!
