Seriously, just use a flathead and gently pry. They pop right out.

I broke mine pretty easily.

Down at the bottom of the vent, there is a loop that clips onto a metal tab that extends from the trim surrounding the vent. Use a flat head to gently pry up and out from there, or you'll break it and you have to get a new one. You can get away with breaking one of the plastic clips on the sides of the vent as long as you still have the bottom clip in one piece.

 

I thought the correct way was to remove the interior trim behind them and then pop them out? That way you don't damage them or break clips.

Yeah it's a pita to pull the vents by prying them out without breaking at least 2 of the tabs. Then the vent won't sit in there properly etc.

I say do it right so you don't have to spend $50 bucks a side on new vents.

Can I get confirmation from another person that this can be done? I don't mind doing the extra work, so long as it really works.
