RickyB thanks for the info, If I knew that I could transfer my tune I would have upgraded ages ago, but I was misinformed and was told I would need a new tune. Now I am too far into my build to upgrade as I don't have money for it now. I think the only thing I would gain is the option to add the flex fuel sensor. I don't drive the car on a daily bases and I can always buy those ebay test kits to test the ethanol.

I don't know if Hydra is offering it anymore but when I upgraded from 2.17 to 2.7 I got a bunch of extras added to the overall cost. Not sure if and when I will use them but it was nice. It put my mind at ease after paying. I got the Gamma version witbmh canbus, flex, the ability to use my own WB and internal MAP sensor capable of 30 50 psi, maybe higher, I forget. One thing that I liked was the map port was brass. The fitting before was plastic. That small touch made me happy. BTW the 2.7 dash is so freakin modern in comparison to the 2.17. It makes it easier to navigate.

Great post vip09, you saved me a lot of money :thumbup

Ok for those wanting to use this sensor the frequency is:
50hz = 0% ethanol and 136hz = 85% linear output. You can program you EMS to read from 0-98% ethanol if you like, and if you will be using E98 every now and then.

Hey all, first off sorry to dig up an older thread but I've been scouring the web for days looking for information on this and this is like a goldmine for me, so thanks in advance for everyone that contributed to the thread. Next, I hope you guys don't mind helping out a Subaru guy, love Toyota's and MR2s, just not practical for me at my stage in life with the family (and I couldn't talk the wife into letting me get a Supra...:p)...so I ended up with 2012 STi that I've spent way too much money modifying...according to the wife anyways. Ok enough about me, on to the meat and potatoes...

So here's my question, has anyone used the small sensor yet (13577429)? I just ordered one for my Zeitronix ECA since the one that came in the kit is the large one and won't work for me...wayyyyy too big (insert that's what she said joke here). What I need to know is the pin order the same on that unit as it is on the medium and large? From all the images I can find it appears to be but I'd like confirmation so I know it will work with the harness I have. Otherwise I'm going to have to order the GM plug and wire it into my harness. Thanks in advance for the help, trying to get this all done so I can get tuned on E85 and unleash some more ponies! :D

It uses the same connector, so the pinout should be the same. I'm not 100‰ though, as I don't have any documentation on it. But I don't see why they would change it.

Thanks, I'll know soon enough as it should be here Friday but I don't think this model has the pin layout printed on it like the Continental ones do. It may just come down to plugging it up and seeing if it works or not when I do the install. I do know that it does work with the Zeitronix ECA as a few GT-R guys are using this sensor so it doesn't clutter their engine bay and so they don't have to add as much fuel line. The only thing is there are some reliability issues but for 57 bucks I'm not going to complain if I have to swap it out every 5 years or so.

Thanks again for getting back to me, I'll be sure to come back and post confirmation on the pin layout and how well it works in a few weeks, I'm doing the install on 10 May along with the rest of my goodies before I do my E-85 tune. Hoping for 350 WHP, we'll see if I get it or not. :D

Sensor came today, man that was quick for USPS from MN to MD, wow! Great news, the plug is the same as expected and the pin layout is as well, I'm stoked now as this will make my install sooooo much easier since I can just tuck this one away and not have to worry about finding somewhere big enough to mount it like the large one. Here's a pic of the sensor with the Zeitronix (large continental pretty much that costs way more) for comparison:

I'll come back and let you all know how the install goes and if the sensor is accurate or not. Thanks again for all the help!

Sensor works great, just finally got around to wiring the gauge today. It gave me an "oh crap" moment after soldering everything in but it turns out that the plug wasn't on the sensor very good so once I got it on there all is well. Here's a pic of the gauge:

Thanks a ton for all the help and great info in this thread, I would have never figured this out if it wasn't for you all! Wish me luck on my E85 tune on June 11th, hoping for a smooth tune and good numbers.

Hmm.. so if you want to use this.. you have to drop down to -6 AN and must use the clip on fittings.. It would be nice to see this in a -8 and welded bungs.. i have tons of vibrations and solid everything in my car.. i would hate to see this plastic fitting fail and gas be everywhere.. is there another option?

Just saw someone do this with their sensor. I guess it could be used to feed a -8 and keep the -6 to the sensor.. Expensive but it would work fine..

Do you guys feel it could be mounted to the fpr without issues? I'm thinking maybe mounding it to my head somewhere since my fpr will be mounted direct to the rail. Then maybe go rubber hose to a plate on the head then return to the front fw. I have a -4 return now if I remember..

I think i found a better fix for me.. assuming that the tube size is 3/8's.. I feel safe with something that can screw on vs the plastic holding it in place..
