I just sketched up a quick brake rotor center spacer

I need 2 for the V8 MR2, comes out to $36 a piece. But if I actually sat down and measured the holes to standard hole sizing then it should be much cheaper.

This is a very cool find. This would wok well with the "design a dashboard" software I found.

It is much easier designing parts in ACAD and importing them into the program. The design interface leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm surprised you could get them that cheap. By the time some logs your order, issues a work order, retrieves th material, sets up the machine, makes, packs and ships the parts, I would think that at least one man-hour is involved. Since typical shop rates are in the $70/hour range, I would have figured it to be higher. Those guys have to have a pretty efficiant shop to make money doing one or two pieces so cheap.

E-Machine

I haven't actually done any work at work today.

I blame Brentpicasso because he showed me e-machineshop

I have managed to earn my daily wage here by making a perspex one piece arcade machine from scratch. Honest I made the whole thing up without a template and by looking at a picture of ultimate arcade II and copying it with a few custom mods.

If you wanted a real arcade machine for your house then why not use this as a design template? Looks mega in 3D semi transparent, Take a peek and dont flame me if its rubbish, I did only find this late last night and only played with it for about 3 hours today.

Anyone fancy getting this made in the minature I have done it in, I am dead curious to see how it turns out.
Ps, if you want the 3d file then send me a mail with "mistercab" in the subject and I will send it.

I actually got it priced up, Considering the size it ain't too bad,

PS. To answer a question further down the forum to draw in the Z axis I found that it can only be done providing you FOLD a seam forcing it into 3D, I dont think (Please correct me if I'm wrong) that there is a way to make 2+ pieces of kit and "Bolt them together" in 3D like you can in ACAD

Looks pretty good man! A hell of a lot better than I could manage with the software. I'm pretty decent with Rhino, but unfortunately I couldn't get it to import any of my models correctly. As for the price, that doesn't seem bad at all, I imagine purchasing a comparable item from a retailier would be significantly more expensive.

Back to the subject though, I think I should use this software to build myself a new Mister2, I took mine to a clutch specialist in Manchester to get a new clutch (Last one did 117,200 miles, is that a record?) and they have virtually written off my motor.

2 Things came to mind when I saw this.

First if you make some thing that maybe some one else might want, maybe post it in the group buy gauging interest section and see if some others want in as well. That would drive the price down. 10 seems to be MUCH cheaper than 1.

It would be usefull to have some where, where people could donate/post drawings
that they have come up with. If we could get a collection of things it would make it easier for every one. I think the open sourcer in me is coming out.

Made these a while back. Emachineshop worked flawlessly. Their software was easy to use, the parts actually showed up early, and the cost was less than I could've had it done locally. Lowered my car 1" without sacrificing any shock travel.
