I will be offering my 89SC on BringATrailer in a few weeks. It's an unmodified, 2 owner car that's spent it's entire life in SoCal. The paint is original with the exception of the front spoiler and mirrors which have been refinished.

The car has 157k miles. It was a daily driver till the original owner retired circa 2001, after which it only came out of the garage occasionally. Just wanted to give anyone here that may be interested a heads up.

Timing belt was done at the 120k service, clutch just a couple thousand miles ago. Among other things, I've replace all struts, ball joints, inner/outer tie-rods, steering rack bushing, valve cover gaskets, dizzy O-ring and had new tires installed. The wheels have been professionally refinished with the proper machined face and painted "teardrops". A/C system was rebuilt (R134a) with reman'd compressor and a new Denso condenser. Please feel free to ask any questions either here or on BaT once the auction goes live.

She's a beauty! I wish I could offer something pre BAT but I don't think I'd be able to match anything close to what it may bring. I'm not even that familiar with MK1SC values there, but if they are following the trend of others, then I assume it will bring in a nice amount of money.

The car looks great! I am interested to see what happens because it looks very similar to mine which I was considering selling in the near future.

Good luck with the sale! I am very optimistic for you.

Gosh I made a huge mistake last winter and sold one pre BAT for $10,000 :(. It was an all original 1988 with 120k miles and in phenomenal condition with the exception of a small crack on the lower front spoiler. Best of luck with your 1989!!

Beautiful car. So has it come up yet? Update on link to auction? Going to be selling my ‘88 SC soon. Unfortunately BAT won’t take a car if it’s had the misfortune of running through Copart and thereby obtained a “salvage” title.

It's not just that- success has made BaT picky.

Auction is yet to be scheduled. They are so busy now. Even starting running auctions 7 days a week. Upfront they said it would be around 4 weeks before the auction listing would even be assigned to one of their "auction specialists". It has been 5 weeks so far...

Just checked the auction results on BaT for these cars- holy cats! Seems you're swinging for the bleachers, good luck. My SC isn't quite as nice but please feel free to drag its value up.

Walkaround and driving videos are now posted on the auction page.
Here's the driving video:

Shot with an IPhone7. Really should get a GoPro for this sort of thing.
