I got MK1 NA that I'm setting up for CSP for the '05 season...I think I'm gonna get a set of Diamonds in 13x7 w/a 4 1/2 backspacing and a set of Kumho V700's in 215's...any one run something similiar? This is the exact setup I've run for 2 seasons on an EP Rabbit with tons of success, but being the MR2 is such a different car I just want to make sure before I spend the loot!! Thanks, Jim.

I run my 88 in CSP and use 15x7 and 16x7.5 Kosei K1 with 205/50/15 front and 215/40/16 rear Hoosiers. The setup feels pretty good.

What year do you have ? I know that the 87+ have issues with brake clearance on a lot of 13s.

for an NA, I'd run 13's for sure. Lighter, lower, less rotational inertia, better gearing.
I used to run 13x7 steel wheels with 215/50/15 V70A's on my CSP 85 AW11. The wheels did not clear the brakes on my 87 without the use of spacers, but this has more to do with caliper protrusion into the back of the wheel center rather than the caliper hitting the inside of the shell. I sold those wheels and bought 13x8 keizers which weighed WAY less, and ran 235/45/13's on them. The keizers had a 5" backspacing and there was plenty of room between the insdie lip of the wheel and the strut casing. With that said, I'd run the 5" back spacing, and I'd use the optional FWD style center that diamond offers. I cannot guarantee that these will clear the 87+ brakes though.
