Awesome! Thank you! You're helping me a ton with this car.
I pulled the engine the day before Thanksgiving, it took me about 5hrs lol
I have another question that hopefully you have an answer to as well.
On my gauge cluster the MPH bounces around and wont go over 20mph and the temp gauge never goes up.
When I pulled the engine and trans the mechanical speed sensor looked ok.
Any idea what could cause that?

Sometimes the plastic gears on the diff can get damaged. That can cause a bounce at some speeds but you say it won't go over 20mph. I have not come across that before. Maybe the cable or gauge is damaged.

You can look down the sensor port inside the gearbox and spin the diff to check for gear damage. It should be a blue gear.

Temp gauge. Try grounding the sensor pin to the engine. It's the small blue single pin plug on the small brass sensor on the back (facing rear of car) of the coolant tree. Top middle of this image IMG_20191202_13184 If it goes right to hot then the circuit is working. If not, you'll need to look at why it doesn't work. Bad thermostat would show some heat so it's not that. But seeing as your engine is out get a new genuine Toyota thermostat while you are at it. Aftermarket units fail way too quickly.
