i don't know much about audio. i have an old sony 4 channel amp that died on me. i've been searching on ebay for something similar that i can just switch over the wires to the new amp. i see these new amps have high/low level inputs on them. my old sony amp doesn't have these.

here is a picture off ebay. its on the left side, that says high level input below it. if i bought one of these new amps and just switch over the wires, would it work, even though i don't have the stuff that plug into them?

High level inputs are designed to accept a speaker wire signal from head units that don't have rca outs. However, you will pick up more noise. I'd try to use the low level inputs if you can.

sorry, what i'm asking is if i don't plug anything into the high/low level inputs, would the amp still work?
