The division decided to add the model because 30 percent of respondents to an online survey said they would like a supercharged version, he said.

"We had no idea it would be that popular," Farley said.
That means that actually 70% of the people who took the poll said they would not like a supercharger? Sheesh. Some people need a slappin.

Good news though.

Those other 70% were probably like "what's a supercharger?"

"The tC will be the first vehicle sold by Toyota in the United States that will get a supercharged model produced by the factory, Farley said."

I guess the MR2 SC doesn't count?

Actually, Toyota Tundra's are built in Indiana, and sold in Japan - and LHD models nonetheless !

And the same Supercharger was used on the Previa, as aero said.

I'm willing to bet that the reporter/journalist probably screwed this up, and not the Vice President of Scion- but you never know, that could be a bad bet...

The tC is not sold in any other country so far...only the U.S.

It shares a lot of stuff with other models, but the tC was designed for the U.S. specifically
