I ended up using an all trac 3sgte block in my mr2 a while back and am tired of burning my hands trying to get to how the All trac dipstick is mounted. I was wondering if there is any way I could swap in the MR2 style dipstick? All I know of the two is one uses an O-ring, and the other uses a compression fitting IIRC, and not sure if it could be done...

originally no. I blew my first engine and the one I happened to bought at the time came off an All trac, the head was 2nd gen off a mr2 though.

The blocks are the same. The first gen 3sgtes (87-89) Celicas have a 8.5:1 c/r. While the second gens (90-93), came with the 8.8:1, as do the mr2s.

The dipstick tubes are different like he said, o ring seal for mr2, alltrac gets pressed in. So you cant just use the alltrac tube? What does it hit something?
