Nobody seems to want to help out but I'm really lost and I had the car running but now it keeps on stalling after start 5 seconds. I have 1989 Toyota mr2 completely stock. I got the car running but after reinstalling the trans. Its smoked from the trunk and not it wont start. I check the fuses and there was only one that was burned out, cant remember which fuse it was but it was a 7.5 fuse in the driver seat foot well. If anyone has had similar problem please tell me. Also still does the same thing even when I jump Fp/B+. Ive tested to see if the AFM was out of wack but it passes the test same with the open circuit relay besides the ecu.

Go back to the fuse box and tell us which fuse it was. There should be a map inside the cover.

Tell us more about where the smoke was coming from. Take off the trim panel and see what is burned.

By won't start, do you mean won't crank, or cranks but won't fire? Make sure that the main ground from the battery to the bell housing is connected solid. If that connection is bad, then the car can fail to crank, and it can burn other wiring as the starter tries to find an alternate ground.

okay thank you for that I will check the main ground and the fuse and relay that messed up where the inj relay and the Fan -I/UP fuse. Also the wire that burned was pin 1 that goes to CEL dash was burned.
