Did a search under the Newbie FAQ section and found nothing on setting the Tensioner? Also searched the general MKII turbo section under "timing belt, etc." and didn't get an answer to my problem. Completely different than the MKI engines I've done.
I installed the belt, set the gap (.075) while putting the tensioner at 13 pounds, then pulled the pin in the tensioner----everything seems fine. Then the BGB tells you to "turn the crank a full turn to the 60 degree mark ATDC" and recheck the gap while turning the tensioner counterclockwise at 13 lbs again. The problem is I'm not getting any "gap" when I turn the tensioner (counter clockwise) to 13 lbs again? In fact, the tensioner doesn't even move at 13 lbs. What am I missing here? (Yes, the crank and the cams are set at TDC at the start). TIA
