I searched any couldn't find any concrete answers for people looking to do the S2000 antenna mod, and since I've done it before on my previous car (Camry), I thought I'd share a step by step of the process with all the details I could think of.

Parts:
1. S2000 Antenna - P/N 39151-S2H-E01, ~$34
2. '00 Celica Sub-antenna Assembly - P/N 86309-20300, ~$35
3. '00 Celica Antenna Nut - P/N 86396-20030, ~$15

Now on to the pics:

the S2000 antenna, the sub antenna, the grommet, and the nut...

the old seized '91 power antenna assembly...

the side spoiler piece removed (91-92 only). easily removed. held by two nuts ...

the stock MR2 grommet must be used because it forms flush with the car's curve. a shot of my Camry grommet shows the difference in the slope...

the '00 Celica nut must be used or else it will not thread properly with the Celica sub-assembly. you can notice that the thread extends further to the edge of the nut in the Celica variation...

grommet, nut, and sub-assembly installed...

unfortunately the bracket that comes with the sub-assembly is too short to reach any mounting point. this makes the role of the chrome nut vital, unless you choose to make a (very) simple bracket extension to secure it...

S2000 antenna screwed on. for people without the 3-piece stock spoiler, you're done...

finally shots of the final product...

Results: Reception is amazing, and asthetically I couldn't ask for it to look any better. Not to mention that I don't have to worry about people stealing my antenna either. You gotta love a mod that doesn't compromise anything.

Excellent write up!! I'm definitely doing this. My antenna isn't seized yet but it makes a racket everything it goes up plus it looks ugly IMO. What about wiring the antenna up?

The antenna wire (thin black wire) is plug-and-play. Just unplug from the old power antenna and plug into the new sub-assembly. Easiest part of the process :)

anybody used the LoCustom's S2000 antenna kit? Do you need the Celica's stuff for that to fit?
Yeah... I used the kit... you only need to buy the kit for $45 shipped on ebay. Fitment is perfect and installation is easy. To save money and get the same quality, get this kit. It is well worth the investment!

turbo2me: That kit looks good, just a tad longer than the S2000, but sleek nonetheless.

I personally prefer the quality and peace of mind of using OEM parts, but that's me. If price is your main concern, then the LoCustom kit looks like a really good deal.

Would this fit if I have a '93 MR2 and install a 98 wing?

I was planning on just filling the hole in and going without an antenna or trying those under the dash style and hoping it worked out.
