Mine was worn, and was unable to source one in the same spec. Well worth the money IMO.


1) You have to shorten the stud length that threads into the cable
2) You have to file two opposing flat sides of the Hex nut that slides into the recessed shifter hole
3) You need to source a shouldered m6 x 1 nut.

Good post. I noticed I have just a bit of play at that rod end, so I should put this on the list of maintenance.

Awesome post. I don’t have this particular issue but worth the read. This was how they save Apollo 13, great American ingenuity. Genius!
