- do you use engine oil other than the oem spec 10w30?
- do you run a blow off valve?
- have you modded your car?

I use a custom blended Mobil 1 Racing. I have a friend that I went to school with that gets me this.

I use 3300cc's of raw N/A power.

Kinda.

and Josh... I believe I am doing a ____load more stress testing then you do :)

and I don't ban people for disagreeing with me.

I think what he is getting at is not so much that you or the guy you emailed are wrong but that you should try it before judging it.

I was pretty scepitical of it at first as well but after trying it I have not tried anything better. I went through 4 or 5 fluids before this as well so I had a pretty good basis to base that opinion on.

Frankly I would love to see it used under heavy race conditions such as your car but I can also understand you not wanting to risk a race on it, even if it is a ridiculously small chance.

i have serious doubts about that "stress"......

3300cc NA "power" (ROFL... killin me Bill... seriously) is like 50whp?

you use a NA trans? worst case scenario if the fluid "ruins it" you're out a few hours labor and another $50

in all seriousness the shockproof would do well for your endurance racing

So I replaced an axle last night and drained the redline super light shockproof that I had poured in not 11k miles ago in April 2013. Still smells like tranny oil, not burnt or anything. Got a look at it and its obviously not the same color but here's a pic for you all. I don't think I'll be using this again, however reused it, and I'm going out tonight.

Holy crap, does it normally turn that color after 11K? Anyone want to chime in?

that looks like you never drained all the old fluid out and it mixed together

Looks perfectly fine to me. Just looks like it mixed with some old fluid that was still in the tranny. The tranny is very hard to fully drain.

that's what i'm thinking. may have also gotten moisture in there which won't help things either.

i have used SPLW for over 15 years and even mixed it with standard trans fluid and never had it look anything like that. always ends up looking normal if i have to drain it or a axle seal starts leaking

Top vent is fine and I let it drain longer than usual. I agree some will be leftover, but its not like I'm leaving half a quart or more in there. Trans has 192k miles on it and its been powering a 1mz the past 24k miles. I don't understand why user error is everyone's first assumption
