If a "drive through" was offered you could do it. The Race-Keeper is mounted in the car so carrying it is possible but not ideal.
At least for me, just the map wouldn't be of much value. I never look at paper maps anyway. I only walk the course and commit it to memory. No notes, drawings, ect... I sometimes review Race-Keeper video/data between runs but that depends on the event and if I think I am need the reference to improve.
The course map's primary function is to provide a location reference for the video and data. The cursor on the course map shows the current position as the video and data play. It can display data though. And its pretty cool to reference the map on Google Earth. Of course the photos aren't always taken when the parking lot is being used for its intended purpose.
The Race-Keeper track map has a unique capability that you might like. As I noted, you can display data on the map and on the above map from an autocross at Hershey, the map is displaying speed as color. You can see the legend in the lower right corner. But those values are easily user selectable and the map is capable of displaying two runs/laps side by side with that data.
Below is an example of one of my favorite methods of evaluating the runs of two drivers. I set the legend to capture the speed deltas of the two drivers at critical points. So you can instantly see where on the map one driver is faster than the other.
Using the legend you can see the speed ranges and then looking at where the color changes occur on the map shows you exactly where the faster driver is optimizing speed.
The trace on drivers left is my first run and the trace on driver's right is my third. It only takes a couple of mouse clicks to set this up. Its really easy and one of the most powerful evaluation tools you can find anywhere.
I borrowed a friend's (very underprepared) STR MR2-S and ran it in DP. I'm not going to lie - it was way more fun than should be allowed on street tires.
Car's on the ground. Ride height is a little bit higher than where the software says it should be, but I don't have the shocks to support that ride height, yet.
Unfortunately, the head is still at the machine shop... so it doesn't look like the car will make an appearance at the divs this year. Though I will be there.
Car's corner balanced and the tow vehicle is ready to go now. Also I picked up a TEC3 ECU/coils/harness/switch panel from my sponsor for, well almost free?! 'course that'll have to be for next year.
Nice! My car decided it didn't want to run at its last event. Compression was low on 3 cylinders. There is nothing wrong with the head and the headgasket wasn't blown, so now I have to yank the pistons.
Nice work on the lower fascia and particularly helpful for me, since I'll be doing the same thing here shortly!
That is a LONG distance oil filter relocation. Do you have an inline cooler or are you planning on routing air from the turn signal to the filter as your "cooler". It's an interesting idea, and just spitballing, with the braided lines you won't see too much of a pressure drop like you might a finned cooler, but any idea on the overall cooling efficiency?
Otherwise, my offseason progress has been that I've fixed my poor cam-timing issues and been routinely PAXing behind the soft DS car, even in the rain:
The car is perfectly neutral in that downhill/off-camber corner, obviously in the wet. I don't have rain tires, but the US market Avon radials (pictured above) are good until there is visible spray behind every car, fair thereafter and obviously useless in standing water, also they are 2.5" taller in diameter, ~.25" narrower, and a bit heavier than the Kevlar bias tyres.
The Kevlar belted bias tyres (imported from jolly olde England, hence the "y") are fine for everything except standing water, it's really scary, in the rain on a slick asphalt surface (not unlike parts of SAR) and subtracting the maximum roll induced Gs "fudge" factor, the car still pulled a sustained 1.4+G corner (long right hand sweeper; i.e. driver outside). I'm tempted to buy a 2nd set and lightly groove the current scrubbed in (2011 Nats) versions as rains. IF they weren't so 'spensive! Which reminds me - I'm VERY impressed with wear on these - they'll last well into next spring/summer.
At least for the time being, I'm modifiying a MKII front strut to fit my car as it holds the Koni "RACE" SA/DA (8610/8611) inserts. Pics/report to follow once I've completed that.
