How much hassle do out-of-country plates generally get you on a sports car in SoCal? If I wind up moving to San Diego for work, the MR2 is coming with me as my "weekend fun car" but staying registered back here in Canada - I'll buy something down there locally that is Cali-registered for my daily driver. I know this is easy to do in Florida with all the snowbird cars that come down for six months at a time, but then FLA doesn't have the smog nazis and CHP "attitude", and the FLA police have probably seen at least their fair share of plates from Atlantic Canada - doubt that's the case on the west coast :p . I already know one attention-getter right off the bat with the MR2 is no front plate - not required where I am living with the car and the car wasn't even sold with the front plate bracket.

I don't think it will be a problem as long as the reg. is currnet. I know a Argentine Canadian resident that has an FC and has his Alberta plates on. I'll ask him more details about reg.

Peace-
