I just picked up a couple from the Toyota dealership. I forgot to ask if they had gaskgets associated with the plugs. Anyone know if its needed or not?

The ones I get are a fiber type. They are black and are supposed to crush a bit. These are the only kinds I get from the parts guy when I get my filters.

I use the drain plug of the supercharger, its the same size and it has a
magnetic core to pick up any stray metal shavings.

yes. you need it. use a metal washer. honestly, what do you think is stronger/more durable? a plastic washer, fiber washer, or METAL washer? use the metal..

the guys at toyota have never charged me for them.. i just ask if i can have a couple when i buy filters.

The copper compresses a little bit giving a nice seal. The dealer buys them by the thousands, i am sure they will give you a few.

Every time you change your oil your supposed to change that washer. Just FYI

Yeah your not dumb most people don't know about changing it everytime and a lot of oil change places will disregard it. All they do is just tighten it down harder which is worse for our oil pan
