Im working on it over winter, once I move my car to the new winter garage I am going to lengthen some wires, battery cable, and move everthing to the far left dead space so it wont be seen, as well as installing a closet full of parts. Updates someday soon

Now you need to get one of THESE , and then tuck your engine lid cable into the trunk as well, and you'll be on a decent start to where i am

I did a wire tuck as well on my MR2.

My Opinion: I know it doesn't matter much because I don't come to this board as often as I used to but... this is the most useless thing that I've ever done to my MR2. I spent 8 hours of my time and energy to make my car even more useless; increased engine bay volume and decreased truck space volume. Does that make sense? I just made my car even more useless and even distributed some weight (albeit: negligible) to the end of the car. So it makes the engine bay look a little nicer (perception), but don't go and open that trunk! It looks like a tornado just took a dump in there (well, not mine but some other examples on this forum)!!

How often do you go "hey guys, check out my ____ing trunk! Clean as hell!" Doug?

That's why you need to finish the "tuck" and extend the engine harness so you can put everything in the drivers side pocket of the trunk where you won't lose any trunk space.

Yes I know, the trunk is ugly! However, I didnt want to extend any wires yet. Over winter I will be extending all the harness wires so I can tuck everything in the far left trunk pit. This will be completey tucked and out of the way then.

-Electrical tape (re-taped harness)
-hole saw 1" (to cut firewall adapter)

I also want to next hook up my aluminum catch can, and aluminium overflow tank like takdrifter has for a sweet look! I have a Hydra EMS here as well, so next spring look for an updated thread! :thumbup

I do have some questions of where did you run the cables thru from the cabin, boot and engine bay? Im very curious about this. Im thinking about doing it with mine but just want some more input on your method.

Pull out the full body harness from driver side kick panel to the trunk/tail lights. You will run that harness through the trunk/wheel well area and it comes out behind the speaker on the drivers side. You will have to drill a 3" hole or so behind there for the harness to come through.

Can you also run it through the side vent rubber surround in the engine bay? Not as clean but still able to be done I believe.
Your way is better for fully hiding it but if you don't want to cut the hole in firewall.

I always enjoy these threads, but I never see 'enough' of a change to want to try it.
Too many hoses and such on our engines, so cluttered.

But I am thankful for folks like Sonic for documenting what he did and helping others out. It DOES look better
