Thanks for the responses.
I pulled the antenna out. What a mess. The mast was bowed. The plastic rack was wrapped around its drive drum. The motor armature was locked solid in hardened grease. With the armature free it runs. I cant get its brushes to back off so I cant pop it out. I have to relube it.
I believe a new mast and rack is available both oem and aftermarket.
I want to get it operating and bench tested including the reversing control setup before I store it away. I have spent a little time in the electrical manual and I am not yet up to speed on what's going on with that relay system. It seems unnecessarily complicated but I have to figure it out.
It is subwoofer amp. The harness routing fooled me.
Is there a go-to for a clean replacement radio? Do you leave it in place and hide another one?
I am delighted the car doesnt have the security system.
I have used Dynamat before and will likely use it on the MR also.
