well anyways... recently my car has been idling funny... so i thought it was ignition related and i changed the cap rotor and plug wires... that didnt help... so today me and paul did a compression test and cyl 4 read 140 while 1 2 and 3 read 180 =( our guess is piston rings... sux 2 be me =( poor mr2 seems like its gonna die at idle.. well looks like imma drive it around like this for a bit... options so far are take it to chicoraceworks and have josh mess with it... or do it with some friends here ... buy a block build it and do it that way =(

It would be very unusual for rings to cause a mjor difference in compression. The rings tend to wear pretty uniformly, since the all get equal wear.

A much more likely problem is a broken ring land or piston.

I had the same problem on my 3sgte celica... 200 psi on cylinder 1-2-3 and 80 psi on cylinder # 4, removed the cylindre head and piston yesterday... ring # 2 had broke in 3 pieces.... I had misfire juste before my car started to rough idle... the cylinder and the piston are ok... I'm lucky
