I have a tokico strut sitting here in my garage, and i want to install it (i have the other three) but im not sure if its blown or not. Are there any tell tale signs to know if its dead with the strut out of the car? I can move it up and down with my hand if that matters.

The cartridge is gas pressurized, or rather it should be, meaning that the internal gas pressure will make the cartridge want to expand to its maximum length. If it doesn't do that, the gas has leaked out. Its OK if you can move it by hand. There should be some resistance to movement. If the resistance is uneven, make sure the cartidge is right-side-up and try again. If it is still uneven, replace it.

well push the strut down all the way and if it rebounds then it is good if it doesn't then they are blown! simple!
