We recently purchased the turbo from this fellow, and have received it:

In his post in the specs its stated its a HKS GT-RS.
In the thread he links to (the previous owner of the turbo) its stated as a HKS GT25RS

I've been asking around on another forum and have been told the GT25RS is a Garrett code, and the GT-RS HKS is far superior so i should find out exactly which one i did get to confirm, as the price difference between them is quite large.

If you look further down that first thread, he says
"Mileage is 5k miles and I loved the turbo just going for 400 on pump gas and would have to run 25 psi to get there on the gt25rs."
So he's saying its not a gt25rs... but the first poster says its that, but also says its a GT-RS.... ??

I am worried i have been mislead. Can anyone shed some light on this for me as I bought the turbo thinking it was a full HKS GT-RS kit.

I am quite sure that's an actual HKS GT-RS turbo... he even lists the specs below:

HKS GT-RS - 400 PS OUTPUT

COMPRESSOR:
wheel-52 trim-51.2 inducer/71.1 major
housing-60 inlet/50 outlet .60 a/r

TURBINE:
wheel 76 trim 53.8 major/47.0 exducer
housing gt25 inlet/ internal gt25 outlet; .64 a/r

part # 11004-AN003

I believe Ken brought two of those back from Japan, one for himself (which is now for sale as well) and one for John

To the best of my knowledge HKS does not even offer a turbo that is called a "GT25RS"

however, it is technically a GT25 exhaust housing so I guess you could call it a GT25RS... although I've never heard HKS actually refer to it as anything besides the GT-RS

No worries, it is different than both the GT28RS and GT25R you have heard talked about here on this board :) (i.e. better ;) )
