Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to the community. Hopefully, make some friends.
I recently got a 86 mr2 and am excited to be working on the car. Luckily the car starts up and is operational although some problems there are not too many.
unfortunately, the car is also an automatic hopefully I can do something about that in the future.:)

Welcome! I've actually done TWO conversions on an 87 and 86, where I took an automatic and made it manual... and took a manual and made it automatic. So long as you have the MT ECU/full engine harness, a clutch pedal, and clutch hyd line (or build your own), and buy a master/slave cyl, it's pretty simple! Didn't require any special wiring as Toyota made the body harness capable of supporting both.

Wow yea You make it sound real simple hopefully it goes well for me when I try. Thanks!
