Anyone encounter any surprises hooking up the Greddy EGT gauge probe into the manifold? Any issues tapping the hole (like not enough material to tap into on the manifold runner) or anything else?

Yeah I want to know that as well. I also want to know if there is any safe way to do it wile the manifold is on the car. I dont want to uninstall my turbo to install a EGT probe.

I guess people say its possible to do it while the engine is running so the shavings get blown out, but thats pretty risky.. I dunno.

i guess you can..then float a magnet down the small hole and stick up wat you can...

TAKE THE MANIFOLD OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.... the reason you are putin the egt in is becuase you wan to monitor the motor and keep it healthy, why take the risk of the metal shavings? do it right or dont do it at all

on a second thought. do the probes go bad?

i guess EGT probes have a lifespan of like 30-50K miles (higher quality ones). just what i've read, couldn't tell you for sure. i have a Greddy EGT gauge and probe installed, probe fits fine. plenty of material in the OEM manifold to tap it. also...

REMOVE THE MANIFOLD TO TAP IT.
