Ok so last time I changed my oil I drove my car around the block, parked it, and then later that day found quite a bit of oil under the car. I saw oil running down the drivers side of the engine starting from the valve cover gasket (or so I thought). While I was wiping up the oil I bumped the paper towel into the under side of the valve cover breather filter and it soaked the paper towel. So THAT is where it oil is coming from. But why? Come to find out I accidentally overfilled the oil by half a quart or so. I didn't know the gen5 oil capacity is greater than the gen4 and I mistakenly filled my gen4 to the capacity of the gen5...

I imagine this has to be the reason why oil leaked from that spot as it wasn't leaking at all before the oil change. I'd like some confirmation on that theory and I'm also wondering if I possibly did any damage to my engine in the process. It seems fine but I want to be sure. Thanks a bunch.
