I'm in the market for another car, since my new wife now drives my lexus. I found a clean, virgin 93 turbo with 55k miles for $12.5K...I'd like to make sure thats a fair price. Anyone here have an opinion on the topic - Or suggestions for a prospective MR2 buyer?

I've got a T67 beast I'm trying to sell. I'm asking $10k OBO. Come check it out, shoot me an offer. Anyone hear can vouch, it's one of the fastest in town, it breaks traction in 2nd gear in a straight line. On some road surfaces you can actually feel the back end kicking out and have to get off the gas.

Check out my CarDomain page.
BTW, It's got some 6x9 Pioneers in it now. Sounds nice.

It does sound fast. However, I'm not looking for a snake eater. I'm looking for a pristine ultra low mileage 93 or 94 MKII. I know I'll pay a premium for one, but i'm wondering how much of a premium. (I'm preapproved). I was thinking of a 93 supra TT, but for 20K, it'd have a couple of problems. If you know what a fair price is, or know of anyone selling an ultra clean (virgin) MR2 within 500 Miles of vegas, let me know. Also, i'm interested in an ultra clean ST185...but i dont think they exist, i have a couple of friends with them, and i do enjoy the AWD.

A 93 with 55k miles is great. I'd try and talk em down to $11k. Kelly Blue Book values a stock 93 MR2 turbo at $5,600 in Excellent condition. So your pretty much paying double than what the car's worth. A 93+ MR2 is a good route to go, better brakes, tranny, shifter, and rear suspension. On my car I upgraded to 93 brakes and a 95 LSD trans. You get that with the car so I think 93+ is definetly the way to go if your looking for a stock MR2.

That's seems a bit high for a 93. I paid 11K for my 93 Turbo with 50k miles in 1999. It was owned by a doctor then a pilot, completely stock and in really good condition. Now it's owned by me, so it's pretty beat up.

"A car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it!"

IMO, that's too high for a 93. It's more of a reasonable price for a 95.

If it were me, I'd pay no more than $10K and it would have to be absolutely flawless! :2cents:

i was thinking about 10.5k ..The car will be due for a major service at 60K, which will cost about $1k at a toyota dealer....I hope he goes that low. I'm going to look at the car saturday....the car is listed on mr2trader.com

If you get the car, don't go to the dealer. Everytime I hear about someone going to the dealer it's nothing but headaches. We have an MR2 specialist here in town. His name is Mori and has a shop. Uehara Motowerks!!! He will do anything you need for an MR2 and will do it right, unlike some of the "Stealership" stories I've heard. It's stickied in this Nevada section. Look at the top, above this thread.

Nothing but headaches....tell me about it. Desert toyota on sahara did my lexus 90K service....took them way too long, misdiagnosed problems with my car, and then broke my antenna. I also had to wait 2.5 hours sitting in the dark at work waiting for their shuttle to pick me up. They also tried to screw me over on a valve cover gasket replacement. I dont think i'll ever go there again.

...sorry for the double post.

I was looking in the mr2oc classifieds and what did i find? the 2 i was looking at buying...seems this guy is quite a character...and has never titled the vehicle in his name, even after a year and putting 5K miles on it. Seems he doesnt want to pay california registration fees. Ouch. I'm not so sure if i want this car, even though it is PRISTINE...i'm still going to look at it this weekend.

Tried to tell you Se7en. That is why I didn't buy it. After you contacted me via e-mail I told you about the drama that I had w/ this character that owns the car that you looked at. Tried to tell you to stay away. I sent him back his title almost a month ago and he made a few posts on his thread that he would get the title work done. Well.....still to this day, it is still not in his name. Something don't smell right with that car, title, and seller.

I looked at it.. and yes it is pristine. He's a character all right, but has gone to the DMV. He's currently in the process of rebuilding his blown up supra engine, after a programming experiment gone awry. That kinda turned me off..

i think that's a "fair" price for a virgin 93T with those miles, another factor of course is the maintenance records, if it's all available. i know a guy selling one with that many miles, bone stock as well, with all service records, and I'm sure he will NOT sell for under $13k! you'll always hear stories of someone getting theirs for below "blue book", i guess if we wait long enough we might find one. just my 0.02, good luck with your search!

Haha Hi Kyle as you know this character sold the car. Good luck on your search though, be patience REAL patience to find one. Don't settle for anything less then what you saw when you looked it at. Anyhow I did real well on the sale and got more then I wanted ironically? I'm having the Supra transformed as we speak so can't wait to feel what 800HP feels like. Should be fun.

That MR2 will be missed!!!

Already bought another MR2 moron. Gee......guess what.......the car was in his name! Go figure! Guess you were right.......I must not have been serous in purchasing a car after all! After 2 months of trying to get you to get the car title put in your name......people (Se7en) was still asking you about the title! LMAO! If I was not serious about the purchase.....why did I go out and buy a car (from a reputable owner)?
