I have a 91 N/A with a 3 wire distributor. The distributor was leaking internally and externally so I took it apart to put a rebuild kit in it. The insulators under the main board broke so I've been trying to source a new distributor. I bought one off ebay that was listed for a 91, and this is an el-cheapo special, I didn't expect it to be very good. I'm not planning on keeping this engine, I just need it to go for a little while. It ohms across all four pins where as my original only did the three. I put the new one in and it cranks but does not fire. Ok, so I grab another used one off ebay that could at least get me driving. Same thing, ohms across four pins. Did they make two different distributors for this era? Am I missing something?

As a final note I did have to replace the harness going to the distributor, Im pretty sure I got that right though..

Ok, I must have had a DOA on the first one, the second replacement is working fine. Now to fix that high idle..
