i've got my engine out of the car and am preparing it to be put back in. I want to change the clutch while the engines out instead of having hassle doing it while its in the car. I've undone all the bolts between the box and block and have managed to get an inch gap between the two, but they wont come any further apart!!

I have tried pulling etc with no joy, all it seems to do is spin on a center point as if something is still attached insted. any ideas?

any help in this would be excellent!

make sure all bolts are out, completely. make sure that the black spacer plate between the two stays with the engine, i made that mistake. so when just pry away and it should come off with a little effort. its been on there for several years so dont expect it to slide off.

what he said make sure that little 10mm bolt is off on the plate near the starter.. i think...
that hosed me up when i was in teh process.
but it soulds like its free since its spinning. if thats the case jst line it up nad ger the weight off the input shaft and it will slide right out
