I have some small port injectors and wanted to know how to bypass the ballast resistor so that I can use them. Where is the ballast located and what do I need to use to bypass it. Thanks in advance.

on the 84-86 it is mounted behind the battery,
Basically you pull it out of the harness. cut the connector off leaving enough wire to crimp them all together. You can't solder them as the wires wont accept solder. Use a crimp connector. then tape or shrink wrap it up. Plug it back in.

hope you are using a small port ecu. if you will be using those on a large port N/A you will lose power.

Would the ballast also be located in the same place for an 87? Also I am running a small port engine with a bluetop ecu. I thought that the reason you had to do this was because the bluetop ecu could not accept the high impedance of the small port injectors? Please clarify.

Old wiring needs a LOT of flux before it'll take the solder. When I rewired my 86 to take the 87 pieces i used pipe flux. Fairly strong stuff.
