what idle valve are you using?

I have a customer that just got his engine tuned and his idle is constantly at 1200 rpm at 12.5 afr...

heard the EMS-4 uses only 2wire iac?

ANY IMPUT?

Hi Chris,

I have no experience with the ems-4 as I'm still on a old school nemesis 2.5 but I did switch idle valve because the stock one didn't seem to have enough range (not big enough). I also have an old merc 190e and had a spare iac for that car so I used it.

It's bigger, easy to adapt since it has round in/out and is a 2 wires pwm valve. It's a bosch valve and is pretty common with german cars. It should be easy to find on ebay. The connectors are circular so it can even work with bullet crimp connectors if you don't have the plug.

I also discovered that the factory idle valve doesn't provide enough range. Currently looking at my options.
