Swapping a 90-92 NA motor into a 92 body (just to have a car to drive at this point, no flames on that) and it came to an interesting point regarding the ECU.

All the other ECU's that have been removed have the number 17260 on them and just say 5SFE in red lettering on the right side with a different plug in the bottom of the ECU. THIS ECU has 17270 written on it and 5SFE ECT written in green on the side, with the female end for the plug that fits.

Has anyone ever seen or know of this ECU? Problem being is we need some sort of pinout because simply wiring it up does not allow the car to start, and the starter is good cause we shorted it just to make sure. When we put in the key and turn it, nothing happens, no click, nothing.

It is unsure if the ECU is damaged, but right now its a matter of finding information about the ECU because there are 7 other ECu's that are the same, and this oddball is different.

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks!

The ECT sugests that it's probably an ecu for an automatic transmission. It probably needs a signal from a switch that tells it that the car is in park or neutral and/or the brake switch before it can send a signal to the starter.

Yes, i found this out. The ECU is for an AUTOMATIC and it stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission. News to us was that the car WAS an automatic and then was converted to a manual.
