Greetings,
I have 2 cars that I'm going to put aftermarket alarms in. One is a 2004 Acura CL TypeS and the other is my beloved 1993 MR2 Turbo. They both have factory alarms so if I have new ones put in - what happens to the stock alarm? Do they disconnect it? Do they leave it in there? What's the standard procedure for something like this?

or they rip the brain of the factory alarm out and install their own.

The fact that it's factory means it won't be a mess under there so your installer should have a very easy time switching you over.

that rarely happens the factory alarm is needed to be in places for most cars to operate only older cars you can simply "rip" them out

i do this for a living, if it is a dealer option and looks like spaghetti i will take it out as the new one will be neatly installed and better than what came out. if it is oem than usually it is not touched at all (usually = somteimes wires are found at module)
