I have read that in an engine with an only "slightly compromised headgasket," maybe a leak that "closes" when the engine warms up, there could/should be bubbles trickling up out of the coolant with the cap off. With this in mind, and told that my other-than-MR2 had a blown/blowing headgasket, I started the car--a car that never overheats, doesn't seem to use coolant, and smokes nary a bit--and notived the tiniest of bubbles, at a rate of about 1 every 30 seconds or so. And it was verrrry tiny.
Does this sound consistent with a blown HG?
I've only owned the car 3 weeks, car came to me with a "brand new water pump," which definitely presented the opportunity for an overheat and such.
