Will a 3rd Gen MR2 fuel rail bolt right up to a 2nd Gen head? Also, does the fuel presure line need to be swaped over as well to make this work?

Yup whatever he said up there. Generation 2 and 3 fuel rail has different configuration. I almost buy one generation 3 fuel rail to put in my Generation 2 but lucky I found out before that.

I was thinking of buying just the injectors off a Gen 3 and trying them out with the standard Gen 1/2 rail.I think otherwise a custom-built rail will be needed.think the fuel pump and lines should cope, providing big power isn't in mind. :)

The Gen III 540s are compatible with a Gen II rail directly. However, you'll need something to control them (EMS, ROM tune, piggyback, etc.) and it's highly recommended that you upgrade your fuel pump and either bore out the stock rail (ATS offers this service) or buy an aftermarket high flow rail (like ours).
